Thank you for purchasing VOX amPhones, the Active Guitar/Bass Guitar Headphones.

Preparing the headphones (installing the batteries)

1.

Turn the battery cover on the right side of the headphones

counterclockwise to remove it.

2.

Insert two AAA batteries as shown in the figure to the left. Be

sure to observe the correct polarity when installing the batteries.

If you’ll be using the amPhones for an extended period of time,

we recommend that you use alkaline batteries.

Replace the batteries when the indicator becomes dark.

3.

Install the battery cover.

NOTE:

Depleted batteries must be removed from the amPhones

immediately. If you leave them in, a malfunction such as battery

leakage may occur. You should also remove the batteries if you

won’t be using the amPhones for an extended period of time.

Guided Panel Tour

1. STANDBY/ON switch:

Turns the power on

or off.

Power on (LED lights up):

The headphones can

be used as a headphone amplifier.

Power off:

The headphones can be used as

regular stereo headphones.

2. EFFECT control:

AC30/LEAD/TWIN:

Adjusts the internal effect

types (chorus, delay and reverb) and volume.

A beep will sound when the effect is switched.

If you don’t want to use the effect, set the control

to the 0 position (the effect will turn off).

BASS:

Adjusts the sensitivity of the compressor.

Precautions

Location

Using the unit in the following locations can result in a

malfunction.

• In direct sunlight

• Locations of extreme temperature or humidity

• Excessively dusty or dirty locations

• Locations of excessive vibration

• Close to magnetic fields

Power supply

Be sure to turn the power switch to OFF when the unit is

not in use. Remove the battery in order to prevent it from

leaking when the unit is not in use for extended periods.

Interference with other electrical devices

Radios and televisions placed nearby may experience

reception interference. Operate this unit at a suitable dis-

tance from radios and televisions.

Handling

To avoid breakage, do not apply excessive force to the

switches or controls.

Care

If the exterior becomes dirty, wipe it with a clean, dry cloth.

Do not use liquid cleaners such as benzene or thinner, or

cleaning compounds or flammable polishes.

Keeping foreign matter out of your equipment

Never set any container with liquid in it near this equip-

ment. If liquid gets into the equipment, it could cause a

breakdown, fire, or electrical shock. Be careful not to let

metal objects get into the equipment.

WARNING

Do not use the headphones while driving a car, riding a bi-

cycle or motorcycle. If you choose to do so, you may cause

an accident. Also, do not use the headphones in dangerous

areas such as public roads, railroad crossings, stations or

construction sites if you cannot hear your surrounding area.

Stromversorgung

Stellen Sie den Netzschalter auf OFF, wenn das Gerät nicht benutzt

Störeinflüsse auf andere Elektrogeräte

Bedienung

Vermeiden Sie bei der Bedienung von Schaltern und Reglern

unangemessenen Kraftaufwand.

Reinigung

Bei auftretender Verschmutzung können Sie das Gehäuse mit einem

trockenen, sauberen Tuch abwischen. Verwenden Sie keinerlei

Flüssigreiniger wie beispielsweise Reinigungsbenzin, Verdünnungs-

oder Spülmittel. Verwenden Sie niemals brennbare Reiniger.

Bedienungsanleitung

Bewahren Sie diese Bedienungsanleitung gut auf, falls Sie sie

später noch einmal benötigen.

Flüssigkeiten und Fremdkörper

Stellen Sie niemals Behältnisse mit Flüssigkeiten in der Nähe des Geräts

auf. Wenn Flüssigkeit in das Gerät gelangt, können Beschädigung des

Geräts, Feuer oder ein elek-trischer Schlag die Folge sein. Beachten

Sie, daß keinerlei Fremdkörper in das Gerät gelangen.

Achtung

Verwenden Sie den Kopfhörer nicht, wenn Sie Auto, Fahrrad oder

Motorrad fahren. Sonst könnten Sie einen Unfall verursachen.

Verwenden Sie den Kopfhörer auch nicht in gefährlichen

Bereichen wie öffentlichen Straßen, an Bahnübergängen,

auf Bahnhöfen oder Baustellen oder wo immer es wichtig ist,

3. AUX IN jack (stereo):

This jack is where you can connect an external audio device. Adjust

the playback volume on the connected device.

4. Input plug:

With the power on:

You can connect a guitar or bass guitar. The amPhones can also use

an active type pickup.

With the power off:

You can connect devices such as a digital audio player or mixer.

You can select a standard plug (1/4") or mini plug (1/8") if the plug is turned to remove it.

5. VOLUME control:

This adjusts the overall volume of the amplifier.

6. TONE control:

This adjusts the tone.

7. GAIN control:

This adjusts the amount of gain.

Caution

• The AUX IN jack or control cannot be used with the headphones when the power is turned off.

• Disconnect the amPhones from your guitar before leaning your guitar against a wall or

laying it on the floor. If you fail to do so, the amPhones or your guitar may strike the floor

and could be damaged.

• When disconnecting the amPhones from your guitar, you must hold onto the Input plug. If

you hold only the cable, you risk potentially breaking or damaging the cable.
